Vote for me to be an Oldham Youth Councillor because I believe in a better Oldham. If elected I will try to arrange more youth events throughout Oldham.
I would try my hardest to voice the opinions of young people so that they get a say in most of what affects them and their lives. I feel strongly about what Oldham looks (e.g. litter problems). I would also like to campaign about healthy eating as I believe a healthier Oldham is a happier Oldham, plus it will help Oldham become for active.
I would like there to be more places for young people to go and spend recreational time, which is something I would like to campaign for.
So if you believe in a better Oldham – vote for me. |

I am a Youth Club member who has attended Delph bus over the last nine months. I enjoy the sessions on the bus and I would love to represent the area. I have some ideas that would improve the area for young people, for example:
- Improve the park facilities - Improve the lighting around the park and bus parking area - Improve drainage on field next to park
It would be interesting to see the bigger picture and to look at youth provision throughout Oldham. This would give me new ideas to improve young people’s lives in my area. It would also give me an opportunity to meet new people. |

I would be interested in becoming a voice for young people in the area where I live and socialise I live in Denshaw which is isolated and rural and it is difficult for young people to socialise outside the area because of transport or lack of it. I would like to point out that young people in this area feel neglected and disheartened by the facilities open to them. Furthermore we lack the services of a local shop or any amenities. Young people meet once a week at the youth club held at Denshaw Village Hall. This is the only place we have to meet and I would love to play a part in improving facilities in this area |

My name is Tammy Bamford. I am 14 years old and I have attended Denshaw Youth Club for over 2 years. I am interested in representing Denshaw Youth Club because I think there should be more facilities in this area for young people. For example:
- More youth club sessions -Better public transport - More social events in the area like disco’s and movie nights - Opportunities outside the area – eg residentials
I would love to be a part of having a young people’s voice and representing my local area |

I would Like to make people aware of the lack of equipment and facilities in my local area. My local village hall is the heart of Denshaw, there are no other youth facilities. We use the hall one night a week. This is all we have to fulfil our intersocial needs. Other youth provision within the borough has access to computers and sports halls and they meet more than once a week. We need more youth club nights with improved facilities and accessible transport for trips etc. Working as part of a team to improve the opportunities for young people in the borough and my local area would be something I would love to be involved in. |

I am 17 years old; I have been part of the youth council now for a year. I joined the youth council to process my ideas to make Oldham a better place not just for youths but for the world as well, I have a load of different skills and qualities such as my confidence because I am not afraid to speak in front of big crowds or other members of the council both youth and adults. I try to turn up to every session but I have to balance it out with my career which is football. Being on the youth council has helped me out because before I knew about the youth council I was a bit of a bad boy not caring because I had no say in helping Oldham be a better place but now I have been part of the Youth Council I finally realised what I need to succeed in helping Oldham be a better place. So please vote for me and let me carry on helping Oldham out and become a better youth councillor and a better person Thanks for listening |

I am 16 years old and a student at Oldham 6th Form College. I am currently studying 4 AS levels in Biology, History, English Literature and Psychology. I stand for- - A safer community and secure social spaces for young people Improving facilities for young people such as leisure, sports and Social facilities - Campaigning for diversity with young people getting better attention - Campaigning for equality between social classes and better choices for all young people.
There are approximately 5.5 million young people living in Britain today. I believe that it is highly important for these young people to have say in what happens in their area and on a national level too. I believe that the youth should be given a platform from which they can communicate and voice their opinions. It is essential for the development of society and our borough that we constantly engage with the youth and allow them to express themselves and take an interest in helping to improve Oldham; and make decisions that will shape their future. I am your candidate for Oldham youth Council and I believe we can work together to bring betterment to Oldham. I Stand For: - A safer community and secure social space for the youth. - Improving facilities for the youth e.g. leisure, social, and sport facilities. - Campaign for diversity, better attention towards the youth - Campaigning for equality between social classes and better choices for youth of different backgrounds. |

I believe that everyone should be able to get on with each other despite gender. Race, religion, ability or sexual preference. I enjoy working with other people and I am currently undertaking a course in hair dressing and I enjoy art and Dancing. I enjoy meeting new people and believe in getting to know others before you judge them. If elected I want to make sure the voice of youth is heard and that I am able to help get young people involved in the community instead of being labelled as trouble makers. I believe young people can make a difference in their communities and make them a better place for all. I want to see more activities for young people so they are not on the streets with nothing to do and that we should have more educational activities that are fun and that get rid of negative stereotypes. So vote for me. |

I believe that everyone can achieve their goals and fulfil their dreams. You have to put your heart and soul into your ambitions. If elected I would like to organise more events for young people so they can be more involved in their communities. I want all young people to be treated fairly and their voices should be heard so they can contribute ideas and have them put into plans. I care passionately about youth crime and would like to work with the police to tackle these issues. I believe that bus fares should be cheaper for young people.
My personal interests are meeting new people, listening to music, spending time with my Friends and having fun. |
