I believe young peoples opinions on community and other issues of concern are really important. I believe young people are often underestimated and their judgements are undervalued. I believe Oldham is one place where such a great diversity of cultures are all integrating together in different ways. Oldham has great opportunities for all age groups and some great attractions. I am really interested in making Oldham a better place and dealing with the concerns of Oldham's youth. I enjoy playing sports, socialising and listening to music. If elected I would like to organise events where young people can discuss their concerns. I would like to take these concerns to Councillors and council officials. I would also like to set up a community Youth centre in my area where people from differing ethnic groups can come together. I want Oldham to be a better, safer and happier place to live.
Adeeba Akhtar Age: 14

Bilal Malik Age: 16
I believe that I can support my area and not forget the other parts of Oldham. I am interested in bringing change about in the younger community. I am a very confident and active person who enjoys doing sports. My first option would be to change the attitude of young people to different minorities by advising them to get involved in Youth Clubs. I would prefer seeing Oldham as a respected and good status area where different communities are together.
Zainab Munir Age: 14
I believe everyone should have equal opportunities and everyone should have the right to say. Also we should have more facilities in Oldham. I am a confident, motivating girl, and I enjoy talking to people, which is important, if I am working closer with Councillors. Also I am an active member of the Buzz at Breezehill School. If I were elected I would influence young people to say what they want. I would organise more social clubs and ask young people what they want and help them achieve their goals. Also, I would like to promote the Youth Service in a positive way. My other aim would be to try and persuade the council to build a cinema in Oldham.
Matire Iftilchar Age: 14

Linh Hoang Age: 15
My personal interests are dance, reading and going out. I believe everyone should be equal. If I was elected, I would speak up for the young people in Oldham and help make a difference.
Kerris Boulton Age: 13
I believe everyone has a right to say what they think and have a say on what goes on in their own town. I think it would boost confidence if our town had cleaner streets and we could stop bullying. I would make lessons more fun and interesting. I always say my opinion on thins and I am kind and helpful. I always put other people before myself. If I was elected, I would make sure everyone got a say in what we could change. I will make sure everyone is safe and has activities and things to do after school. As well as this, I am a kind of person that knows what young people want and need. I would like to change the way people see things and make sure young people are heard. I am good at listening and understand people's problems; I will try and make the streets safer.

I believe that the environment should be cleaner and that animals should be better looked after. I would encourage people to plant more trees and look after their gardens; I would help people plant hanging baskets so that the area looks more pleasant. I know that I am young and so if I do not get through this time I will try again.
Becca Dale Age: 15
Hi I'm Becca, I love seeing my friends, doing sport and having a laugh. I believe that young people in Oldham don't have enough say in what's going on, and the things that affect us. I think that we deserve to. We get a lot of bad feeling towards us and that shouldn't happen. I would like to see more positive press coverage of what young people do and I would like to see more positive activities for young people to get involved in. I would always listen to everyone's views and you can trust that I'd do my best to get your ideas across. I'm trustworthy and reliable.
